1. I LOVE SALMON it’s loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, and has high-quality protein with vitamin B-12 and iron. Salmon can be prepared many ways such as baked, grilled, sautéed, and even in sushi! And if you know me and sushi are like BFF’s
2. DARK GREEN VEGETABLES are an excellent source of vitamins A and C. I like spinach, broccoli, asparagus, Kale, Swiss chard, Collard Greens, and Organic Spring Mix Salad. These vegetables are also great for your iron and calcium. So not only are you helping your hair, but your body as well. I know we all love 2 for 1 deal!
3. BEANS, BEANS… It’s good for your heart? The more you eat them the more your hair will go! Now I must say growing up I was not a bean fan AT ALL. But as I’ve gotten older I have grown to like and appreciate them more. Legumes like kidney beans and lentils should be an important part of your hair-care diet. Not only do they provide protein to promote hair growth, but ample iron, zinc, and biotin. While rare, biotin deficiencies can result in brittle hair.
4. I know everyone loves NUTS on there ice cream or in there salads… Well maybe that’s just me! But you should know that Walnuts (My Fav) contain alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid that may help condition your hair. They are also a terrific source of zinc, as are cashews, pecans, and almonds. A zinc deficiency can lead to hair shedding, so make sure nuts are a regular on your healthy hair menu. *** Please do disregard this if you are allergic to nuts***
5. Anything that has feathers is the best to eat. Turkeys and Chickens have a high-quality of protein and help give you the healthy hair you crave. POULTRY also provides iron with a high degree of bioavailability, meaning your body can easily reap its benefits. So like Chick-Fil-A Cows say, “EAT MORE CHICKEN”!
6. How do you like your EGGS? I prefer Egg lands Best scramble, boiled, deviled, and in my hair. Eggs have a are one of the best protein sources you can find. They also contain biotin and vitamin B-12. So get the cooking!
7. WHOLE GRAIN foods were another childhood dislike, but as I grew older I learned to like and appreciate the flavor. A whole-grain snack can also be a great go-to food when your energy is zapped halfway through the afternoon, and you've still got hours to go before dinner. For healthy hair it contains a dose of zinc, iron, and B vitamins. “NO MORE WHITE BREAD!”
8. I’m going to be honest; I have not tried OYSTERS just yet. I just can’t get pass the slimy part, but I hear they are a great aphrodisiac. So I plan to try them very soon and I will be posting about it… LMBO! Another 2 for 1 deal… got to love it! The key to their love and hair-boosting abilities is zinc a powerful antioxidant.
9. “And all because the ladies love Milk Tray” is a good slogan to show that we need to put more LOW-FAT DAIRY products in our daily food intake. Skim milk and yogurt are great sources of calcium, an important mineral for hair growth. They also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources.
10. “What’s up DOC?” CARROTS are an excellent source of vitamin A, which promotes a healthy scalp along with good vision. A healthy scalp is essential for a shiny, well-conditioned head of hair, you'd be wise to include carrots in your diet as snacks or toppings on your salad.
